Administrator’s system, Mac II or newer, System 7.0 or later, 2 MB of free memory, hard disk drive.

Help! Network Administrator
1. Open the ‘Help! Network’ folder, then open the ‘Put in System Folder’ folder, drag the ‘Help! Network Monitor’ control panel on top of your System Folder. When prompted that control panels need to be stored in the Control Panels Folder, click ‘OK’.
2. Restart your Macintosh.
3. IMPORTANT: Be sure to keep all of the ‘Help! Network’ files in the ‘Help! Network’ folder at all times. These files must reside in the same folder as the application in order for the program to function properly. (Exceptions are the ‘Help! Network Monitor’ and the ‘Help! Network Probe’)

Help! Network Client
1. Open the ‘Help! Network’ folder, then copy the ‘Client Software’ folder to a floppy diskette.
2. Rename floppy diskette to ‘Client Software’, then eject the ‘Client Software’ floppy diskette and take to client machines.
3. Insert the ‘Client Software’ floppy diskette into the clients Macintosh floppy disk drive. Open the ‘Client Software’ folder, then open the ‘Put in System Folder’ folder, drag the ‘Help! Network Probe’ control panel on top of the clients Macintosh System Folder. If this Macintosh is running System 7.0 or later, when prompted that control panels need to be stored in the Control Panels Folder, click ‘OK’. Else, if System 6 machine place the ‘Help! Network Probe’ control panel directly in the clients Macintosh System Folder.
4. Restart the client Macintosh.
5. Before moving on to the next client Macintosh, you will need to open the ‘Help! Network Probe’ control panel and enter client information.
NOTE: To have the ability to scan and create reports on the Administrator machine you must also install the ‘Help! Network Probe’ on the Administrator machine.

Using the Program
Install Help! Network and Help! Network Probes according to the enclosed installation instructions. The first time you open the application, Help! Network asks you to enter your name, company, and authorization number.
After clicking OK, an empty Main Group window will appear. Select New Client from the Users menu. Add clients to be supported by selecting their names and clicking Add. When you are finished, click Done. The Main Group window will reappear displaying the supported clients.
To create a report for a particular client's system, first select the client and then select Collect Profile from the Users menu. When Help! Network is finished profiling the client's Macintosh, the client's machine icon will appear with a small report icon. Next, select Create Report from the Reports menu. A report of the client's system will appear on your screen.
Reports are divided into two main sections: Diagnostic Results and Configuration Information. The diagnostic section contains problem information about the client Macintosh. It uses warning, caution, and note icons to specify the severity of each detected problem. The configuration section lists all of the configuration information collected from the client Macintosh.
